The components
- Carrier base rateCarrier pass-through
- The carrier's rate for the service, weight and dimensions on your lane. It's a price, not permission. You only see it for services that passed eligibility.
- Fuel surchargeCarrier pass-through
- The carrier's current fuel surcharge, passed through as charged.
- Remote-area surchargeCarrier pass-through
- Added by the carrier for some origin or destination postal codes.
- Service charge
- Our live-animal handling and monitoring service: eligibility checks, exception monitoring, operations staff and support. A flat amount plus a small percentage of the carrier base.
- Packaging
- Box kits and supplies you choose to buy with the shipment. Optional if you already have suitable packaging.
- Live-arrival protectionNot insurance
- Optional. A service guarantee under our terms, not insurance. It is priced as a percentage of declared value with a minimum, up to a coverage cap. Terms are pending underwriting and legal review.
- Loyalty & promo adjustments
- Tier discounts, first-shipment offers, nonprofit rates and promo codes. Loyalty tiers apply to our service fee only. Promo and share codes never combine with other adjustments: the single best one applies. They don't apply to carrier pass-through costs, tax or protection unless a rule says so explicitly.
- Account credit
- Earned credit applied last, before tax, to our service fee only.
- Tax
- Calculated on the taxable lines after discounts, using the rates for the tax jurisdiction. Protection is shown separately and isn't taxed in this example.

Other adjustments may include first-shipment offers, rescue/nonprofit rates, volume rebates and promo codes. Stacking order is fixed: the single best non-stackable adjustment (codes never stack), then stackable ones, then account credit.
What else you should know
Currency
Canadian lanes are priced in CAD and US lanes in USD. The currency is fixed on the quote and never converted silently.
Quote expiry
Quotes hold for 30 minutes. Carrier availability and prices can change; if they do before payment, you'll see the new price and can decide again.
If booking fails
If the carrier can't create a label after payment, the booking fails safely and the payment is voided or refunded.
